Guest Blogger-Author, Jenn Nixon

Fan Favorite, Baldwin Bates, finally gets his own story and HEA in book three MIND: The Reckoning.  To celebrate the new release, books 1 & 2 are both on sale for the rest of the week! You can find all three books here: MIND: The Beginning .99c, MIND: The Emergence $1.99

Baldwin Bates has only wanted one thing since joining MIND, to take care of his friends and keep them all safe. While the Meta-Alien Investigation and Neutralization Department is busy monitoring an emergence of human psychic and alien activity, Bates takes his first solo assignment searching for a woman who claims to see the future, only to botch it up and let her get away.
After helping to destroy an alien device called the Transcender, Lexa Quinn wakes from a two-week coma a very different person than she was before. While her abilities grow stronger, her feelings for Bates begin to interfere with the MIND team's mission, putting everyone at risk. Secrets from her past threaten the present and future, forcing Lexa to decide who she is and where she belongs.
When a powerful, ancient enemy lays claim to the Earth and brings his judgment upon the population, Bates, Lexa, and the entire MIND team must do whatever it takes to save the human race before the reckoning is complete.
As Bates bypassed the crafters and artists, the scent of Asian BBQ wafted through the air. He grumbled along with his stomach and hoped a few of them stuck around so he could pick something up on his way out.
"How’s it going?" Dina Ranger asked via his earcomm, jolting him.
"Shit! Forgot I had this bloody thing in," he replied, taking a breath and shutting his eyes for a second.
"Have to get used to it if you want to be in the field...alone."
"Unlike your brother, I need some me time, Sherlock." This time, he chuckled when he felt her brush his mind with calming thoughts. "How’s Lexa? Any change?"
"No, nothing. Never changes. I...just don’t get it."
"Me either," he said with a sigh, quickly putting it out of his mind to maintain his focus. "I just got to the park. I’ll check in before I leave."
"Okay. And whatever has you so hungry bring some back. Talk to ya."
Shaking his head, Bates waited for the static of the comm to fade before pushing farther into the park, eyeing the tables and tents, but mostly their occupants, searching for a face. Miss Takashi had a pretty face, although older now, since the photo from the collective Meta-alien Investigation and Neutralization Department database was almost one hundred years old.
When he neared the end of the first row of vendor tents, he took in the sight of the city across the river, and then found the second and final row of vendors left to search.
He politely declined several offers to purchase various items like candles and potholders, wondering why his ‘blah face’—a term his new friend Kim called his usual stern façade—wasn’t working.
Toward the middle of the second row, Bates slowed, eyeing a colorful booth, shrouded in light purple curtains, and a sign that screamed for attention. When a face-painted toddler, followed by a frantic parent, came running out of the booth, he barely sidestepped out of the way. The parent offered Bates a weary shrug. He nodded politely and carried onward, finally seeing a sign for "Madam Takashi" two booths down.

Carbon Copy

By: Terri Talley Venters

Lilly Allen has brains, beauty, and a trust fund. She's living in New York City and her career as a reporter is taking off. She's hoping the love of her life, Grier, will propose soon. She has it all, or so she thinks.

Grier Garrison, Create Life executive, is running the company while his father, Dr. Michael Garrison, is in the ICU awaiting a heart transplant. Grier knows the truth about Create Life and its shady side business. He fears Lilly and her twin brother, Luke, are in danger.

While working on two unrelated stories, stolen newborns and cloning, Lilly discovers a shocking connection. Horrific things are happening, but who is behind it all?

 Tin Roof

Do not read until you’ve read Carbon Copy

In the sequel to Carbon Copy, Lilly Allen returns to her hometown of Charleston, South Carolina, to be closer to her mother, help with her injured brother, and heal from the disappearance of her fiancé Grier Garrison. While she awaits Grier's return, she busies herself with her mansion renovations, her best friend's wedding, and her job as a news reporter.

But even her busy schedule cannot stem the worry over her brother's persistent amnesia and changes in personality. Is he her real twin? Or did they rescue a clone?

On top of this, the months of pining without a word from Grier begin to take their toll. She finds herself growing closer to her favorite cameraman, Joe. His confession of undying love, followed by a passionate kiss, has her questioning how much longer she can wait, and whether she wants to.

To further complicate matters, two unrelated news stories drag her into the seamy underbelly of the Charleston Police Department where murder and drugs are common occurrences.

In the chaos of a hurricane, another body washes ashore, and Lilly comes face-to-face with the murderer.

Silver Lining

Silver Lining is the much anticipated conclusion to the Carbon Copy trilogy. Silver Lining picks up where Tin Roof, the sequel to Carbon Copy, leaves off. Lilly Allen and Grier Garrison are bound for Scotland and their new lives at Castle Garrison on the Isle of Skye. Lilly and Grier, now the new Marquess of Garrison, plan their lavish wedding which will make Lilly a marchioness! But first, Grier wants to rescue all the clones and bring them to the safety and freedom of his castle and tenant farms.

Silver Lining is full of surprises and new discoveries. Before they can even leave for Scotland, Grier’s father, Dr. Michael Garrison, drops a bomb which could keep Grier and Lilly apart. Before this is resolved, Lilly sneaks in a few passionate kisses with her beloved cameraman, Joe. Lilly is tormented with indecision between the two loves of her life—Grier and Joe. Who will she choose?

Omnipotent Blood Excerpt

“Am I supposed to believe you just happened to show up here? A hundred and fifty miles from the hotel where you work?”

She grinned, securing her thick, wavy hair in a ponytail. “Of course not—although I don’t actually work at the hotel.” She made a wide, sweeping gesture with her arm toward the wreckage. “Who do you think caused the accident?”

This whole encounter was freaking me out. Fuck being discrete. I visualized her flying backward into the snow bank. In an instant the strange connections formed in my mind, physically linking me to all of the cars, people and debris that surrounded me. I didn’t want to hurt her—not yet, anyway—so I only pushed hard enough to send her sailing about fifteen yards into the ditch.

She laughed as she climbed to her feet, shaking the snow off her designer outfit. “It’s been a while since I’ve been knocked on my ass. Impressive.”

I’d never felt so dumbfounded in my life. Even if this psycho bitch was used to fighting my kind, it was unlikely she’d ever crossed paths with another telekinetic. She was acting like I’d crafted a wiener dog out of a balloon at the fair. “What the hell are you?”

“I need you to come with me,” she said, making no effort to respond to my question. “And since you seem to be immune to being bound—I’ve been trying ever since you got out of the car—you’re going to have to consume my blood first.”

“I’m not going anywhere with you!” Where the hell were Sienna, Raven and Sandy? Ruby’s escalade might be shielding them from seeing the encounter, but even if it did, I wasn’t exactly being quiet. And Ruby was staring right at us.

“Your coven sisters can’t see or hear you.” She’d apparently guessed my thoughts by the direction I was looking. “A simple illusion. To them you appear as if you’re still sitting in the passenger seat like you were told.”

“Enough!” Her voice boomed with unnatural power, causing me to take an involuntary step backward. “I have no desire to harm you, child, but you are coming with me. Now.”

With all of the abilities I’d been given, I never thought I’d have cause to feel afraid again, but watching her approach me like I was nothing but a petulant child made me shiver. There was no way to fake that type of unwavering and absolute confidence.

Guest Blogger: ML Rosado, Author of Operation Italy

His resolve to live an uncomplicated life full of one-night stands and casual encounters slowly erodes as he falls for her. Luisa is like nobody he has ever met, and he finds himself wanting to explore her world, not knowing about the terrible drama that could derail their romance before it even begins.

Despite all the challenges they face, the Gesatti brothers fight for what they believe in and the women that rule their hearts. Operation Italy takes you through a journey full of passion and invites you into a family that protects each other no matter what. Will they all be able to get what they want? Will being in love be enough? Find out while reading Book 2 of the Operation Series by ML Rosado. Operation Italy will take your breath away and keep you warm at night.

“Mr. Gesatti, are you okay?” I asked.

“Maura…” he whispered.

At the sound of her name, all the brothers froze and looked at their father.

“Che cosa, papa?” said Donato.

When they turned around, on the other side of the glass door of the restaurant was a woman in a sleeveless black dress. She was in her sixties, and despite her age, I could tell that she had been beautiful when she was young—she still was. I remembered the photo of her that I found in Donato’s nightstand. The years had passed, but still her eyes were lost, empty. Her hair was still black and long but with dashes of gray.

She just stood there, and Lorenzo was frozen in place. I could hear his heartbeat quicken when he let out a simple sigh…

Donato marched slowly to the door. I did not want to even breathe.

“What the fuck are you doing here?” he demanded, his eyes suspicious.

“Let me in,” she responded, completely ignoring Donato’s attitude. She stepped gracefully around him and walked toward us, studying our faces calmly.

“Lorenzo,” she said, and nodded her head slightly. Don Lorenzo stood there like a lifeless statue. “Giovanni, Vincenzio, and you,” she said turning toward me, “you must be Tatiana.” The silence was deafening. Gio and Vin’s eyes were full of questions while they stared at her in shock. An unknown ghost has just walked in the restaurant and they looked like they wanted to say so much but simply couldn’t.

I was just worried about how D was going to handle all of this. His blue eyes were full of defiance instead of despair. I could hardly recognize my sweet Donato. He stood there, protecting his brothers once again, as he has all his life.

“Mom?” Vinny managed to say.

“Do not call her that!” D blurted out. “Why are you here?” He went up to his mother defiantly, like a lion protecting his young.

“I wanted to meet you all, and…” she trailed off in a low voice.

“No. Tell them why you are here! Damn it!” D shouted. The whole restaurant trembled at his tone.
